Scott Wolf joins the Law Dogs pilot

Wednesday, March 7th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Scott Wolf is the latest name to be associated with the new Law Dogs pilot (the name seems to have gone from the working name to the official name now).

Scott Wolf has landed the lead role in an untitled ABC comedy about co-workers at a top law firm. The former “Party of Five” star will play the leader of the Law Dogs litigating team. Also joining the project is Geoffrey Arend as a junior member of the team.

What is interesting is that this pilot was originally associated with CBS, so I don’t know if one of the previous reports was in error, or if this one is.

Already associated with the show are Janeane Garofalo & Rachael Carpani, who were the first cast members signed on, as well as Mark-Paul Gosselaar.

Former Saved by the Bell and Commander in Chief alum Mark-Paul Gosselaar has signed on to join the untitled CBS legal drama starring Janeane Garofalo. The pilot is being done for a possible Fall 2007 pickup for CBS.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar has busted law-breakers, assisted law-makers and now he’s getting ready to practice law himself.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the “Saved by the Bell” star has booked a lead role in an untitled CBS drama about the lives of Los Angeles public defenders. The series, from Barry Schindel (”Numbers”), also features Janeane Garofalo.

This project is starting to become a who’s who of talent. This one has real potential to actually be something great for CBS.

Janeane Garofalo & Rachael Carpani to star in CBS legal drama pilot

I have always enjoyed Janeane Garofalo, but she just doesn’t seem to be in enough movies or shows for my liking. She did have a successful turn on The West Wing as Louise Thornton in its final season. Now she has signed on to a new CBS drama, which will begin work on the pilot for a possible pickup for Fall 2007.

Rachael Carpani, the Australian actress known for McLeod’s Daughters, is also set to co-star in the project.

Barry Schindel (Numb3rs) is the executive producer the drama, which will revolve around a group of public defenders, with Garofalo as their so-called leader. The unofficial working title of the project is Law Dogs.
